MLB Picks: Washington Nationals at Arizona Diamondbacks
I have the Dbacks as a highly mediocre team this year, while the Nats are one of my favorites to win it all. The Washington Nationals have been much better since the lineup finally got healthy, and the opening line of -135 has a ton of value to kick off this series.
The Washington Nationals were dealing with injuries to open the season and it made one of the elite lineups in baseball look highly mediocre. They opened the season with a bunch of close games against an awful Phillies team, and it looked like we wouldn’t be able to trust them this year.
Suddenly, they got healthy and hot. They still have one of the best pitching rotations in baseball, and the lineup is doing enough to win for them. The Nats are consistent and reliable, and these lines have value on the road. We’ll do an ABC progression here, hoping to win one game in this series against a streaky but inferior Dbacks squad.
I love the pitching matchup to open the series and it gets better from here. I think the better team has all the momentum in the world right now and I don’t see them slowing down with their ace up. Z-Code gives a slight edge to the Nats, but hesitates because of the pitching change and the road favorite status, but we move forward with a tempered ABC progression.
