MLB Picks: Oakland Athletics at New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are an interesting team. They pitch well enough, but nobody is truly dominant. The bullpen is solid, but you have to get to the end of the game with a lead if you’re going to use that bullpen. The lineup is old, and nobody is particularly dynamic, but they’re doing enough to win games. A balance of speed, some power, and a lot of experience and smart approaches make the New York Yankees really tough.
The Oakland Athletics are a long way from home. Traveling coast to coast is pretty tricky. The Yankees will miss the Athletics’ best pitchers in this series, and they have a nice edge across the board in each game. The Athletics don’t really hit – part of that is a weak lineup and part of it is a tough park. I think when you look at this game, though, there’s value here on the home team.
Z-Code is in hesitant agreement. Some parameters are only slightly in agreement, such as the 50/50 money line or the 7-6 score prediction for a New York Yankees victory. Still, with the value of a progression where we chase a wager through an entire home series with pitching edges throughout, I expect the New York Yankees to payout here.
