We’re riding the New York Mets heavy to start the year, but they haven’t let us down yet. The San Diego Padres have been a weak team in a weak division for a while, despite spending a good amount of money in free agency two seasons ago. Ultimately, you have one of the best teams in baseball playing really well and visiting an all around poor team. I think that’s a great time for a system progression.
The Mets have a big pitching edge here and will for the first two games. Yes, they might be a little bit travel weary after going all the way across the country, but I think superior talent will shine through here. The New York Mets are on a roll, and it’s hard to imagine them losing that momentum to the lowly San Diego Padres.
