LET’S GO BOWLING!

NCAAF bowl season is upon us and with so many games it can be a little overwhelming. Over the next two weeks I will post info, stats, quick thoughts and occasional picks on all remaining bowl games.

Tuesday, Dec. 19
Boca Raton Bowl
Florida Atlantic (-22.5) vs. Akron | O/U: 65.5

Lane Kiffin has turned around FAU and they have a great match up playing at home against a mediocre Akron team. FAU averages over 6 yards per rush and the Akron allows 5.0 ypc. This could be an FAU blowout.

Wednesday, Dec. 20
Frisco Bowl
SMU (-4.5) vs. Louisiana Tech | O/U: 71

While SMU is playing close to campus, this will be their first game after losing head coach Chad Morris to Arkansas. SMU can score points but their defense is terrible and Louisiana Tech should have the motivation to hang around. Let’s take Louisiana Tech +4.5

Thursday, Dec. 21
Gasparilla Bowl
FIU vs. Temple (-7) | O/U: 56.5

This game should be closer than the spread indicates as FIU will be equally motivated to get a win. Temple can finish with a winning record with a win and an FIU win will give them their best record since joining the FBS. While FIU has a few problems on defense, I think they will play above their heads and hang around in this one. Let’s take FIU +7.

Friday, Dec. 22
Bahamas Bowl
Ohio (-7) vs. UAB | O/U: 58.5

Given UAB’s long road to get here, this game is their Super Bowl. Ohio is a good team but has a few key injuries and UAB might have the most motivation of any non-playoff team. Let’s take UAB +7.

Friday, Dec. 22
Potato Bowl
Central Michigan vs. Wyoming (-3) | O/U: 45.5

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen has said if he can play, he will play and obviously that will make a huge difference. If Allen returns, Wyoming will have all the motivation they need but as of now there is a little too much unknown to pick a side.
