Recently we’ve been making a lot of progression bets, but tonight most of the league is in game two of a series and well be making a lot of single-game plays.
Cleveland Indians at KC Royals
This is a b-bet in the progression posted yesterday. With Salazar on the mound tonight and Carasco on deck for tomorrow, we feel confident Cleveland will be able to snag a win in this series.

Houston Astros at Oakland A’s
The Astros are still one of the best teams in the American League and are facing a struggling Oakland team in the second game of a three game series. The Astros lost the opener but are poised to scoop the next two with a huge pitching edge in each game. Keuchel is 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA over his last 3 starts and Overton is 1-1 with an 11.42 ERA in his last 3. Furthermore Overton’s at home ERA is currently 24.00. Houston should bounce back easily tonight and snag a win.

Toronto Blue Jays at Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona is trying to build momentum but the story of their season has been a sad one. Toronto is playing well and trying to secure a wild card spot. Not to mention, the Jays have their ace on the mound tonight with Sanchez averaging 1.71 ERA in his last three while facing Godley averaging 8.22 in his last three. The blue jays are an all-around better baseball team and with the pitching edge this should be an opportunity for them to pick up some much-needed momentum.

Boston Red Sox vs. San Francisco Giants
The Giants have been underperforming to say the least. They entered the all-star break with the best record in baseball and were swept in the opening series back. The Red Sox, however, are playing well and represent a much more formidable opponent than the Padres who seemingly had San Fran’s number last weekend. The Sox come into this game with all the momentum, a solid pitching edge, and an invaluable home-field advantage.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates
This is an interesting matchup as the pirates are arguably the better team with the home field advantage. However, the Brewers are starting their ace Junior Guerra who’s been on fire this season against a mediocre Jamison Taillon in Pittsburgh. This is a medium confidence underdog pick where the value in the +145 line justifies a flier on them.
Texas Rangers at LA Angels – OVERS
This game represents one of my rare picks to bet the over/under line in lieu of the moneyline or spread. Here, the starting pitchers for the Rangers and Angels are, respectively, Lohse (10.8 ERA) and Lincecum (11.05 ERA at home). Add to that the second worst bullpen in baseball from the Rangers and a bottom 15 bullpen from the Angels and we are looking at the perfect storm for a high scoring game. The over is set at 10 but z-code recommends buying it to 9.5 if your bookie will allow it.
