NHL Picks Contest: New York Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins
Thursday, March 3rd

The New York Rangers have been all over the place this season. Sometimes they look dominant, other times they look awful. They have a strong goaltender but the defense in front of him has been porous. What’s more, the offense seems out of sorts from time to time. It’s hard to get a read on this team, especially on the road, and that’s what makes it so fun to feature them in our NHL Picks contest for their game with the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 3rd.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got off to a slow start and continued to stumble into the All Star Break, but they have been hot lately and currently have their eyes on a Wild Card spot or more. This offense is among the best in hockey, especially when Sidney Crosby is on. The problem, as always, is the defense is terrible and the goaltending is inconsistent.

So, in a divisional rivalry game between two likely playoff teams that absolutely hate one another, who do you have here? As always, simply comment on this post pinned to the top of our Facebook page to participate. The first one to ten wins gets the prize. Here are our standings so far after our pool was exactly split last week when the Hurricanes beat the Flyers:
