NHL Free Pick of the day by Ron for February 1, 2012

Number Ten

Recap: Easy win yesterday as Pittsburgh deletes a 4-1 deficit in the third period. In case you missed, Pens tied it with six seconds left and Fleury stones Kessel in a shootout. It might be fair to say that Crosby’s absence was a helping factor in a valiant team effort with some heavily celebrated goals. Crosby did have a tendency to get in the team’s way.

That means we are now in positive profit and also back at a .500 record, going for a winning one. The theory that all teams would be at their best seems  ...

Free Pick of the day by Ron

The All Star break is over, and it was a pretty theatrical and annoying one at that. We are back in action tonight with one of the largest lineups of the season. Unfortunately no one will be wearing a cape.

The million dollar question in the air is how will teams be affected by the break?

Lucky for us we only choose one game to work with, so we only need to worry about this effect on a single game basis. The last fact we all encountered were the Red Wings crawling into a deep sleep just before the break.  ...

Teams Performance After the All Star Break?

Teams Performance After the All Star Break?

How does the performance chance when the playoff is in sight?

Here is what JonathanMa thinks: “Generally teams become more serious after the all star break. They know that the play offs are just around the corner. Play off contenders will play harder to secure their spots and get that top spot. Weaker teams will compete harder against each other for those bottom 2 play off spots.

I actually expect less surprises after the all star break. Good teams will defeat bad teams like they should. So I generally won’t be concerned very much besides for injuries.”

This is a good knowledge to have for sports investors. Having less surprises is what we need in a long run to be profitable!

Why is upset in NHL a good thing?

Every time we get an upset in NHL you might get mad – we lost the money on the obvious sure win where a big team did not show up at home. SO how is it a good thing?

What’s an upset? In NHL the upset happen pretty often. Oilers won over Sharks? Detroit could not beat Columbus and took it to shootout. Oilers again won over Chicago 4-3. You name it, you’ve seen them many times.

On the short sight it looks like a bad thing and makes you lose the bet which is true.

However on the  ...

NHL Pick of the day from Ron for 23 January 2012

Home and Home

Recap: Let’s go over some crucial points about our past couple of picks. We are now a game below .500, losing our past two days plays. On one of these days we had two game picks, so it comes out to three losing plays total which moved our record backwards to this point. Now we’re going to move forward and turn it around. Though it’s smart not to look back, we aren’t simply going to move forward in denial like most would. Instead we’re going to make room for some interesting discussion here, hope you enjoy it!

Time for an Underdog

Recap: Both games last night ended up in a shootout. Winnipeg loses at home and Detroit wins but does not cover by two goals. That means we’re all squared up again. Saturday is the day to make a big stride forward or get knocked back. Though we couldn’t capitalize and were punished for taking the extra game risk, we’re fortunate enough to still be even in the books. We’ll give ourselves a chance to break the spell for another winning record. With plenty of days to go, the good news is: all it will take for  ...

Another great winning night!

Another double win day for zcoders: Both CHI and PITT won our 4 star home-winner trends. Chicago delivered the full package by winning 1-3 which means all bets WON!!

We are hitting 5000 likes and the community is growing fast.

Don`t forget to put yourself on the waitinglist on http://zcodesystem.com/ index page as zcode is going private very soon. Its already pretty crowded but thats your only chance for a full membership later as we limit the open spots (to keep bookmaker odds sharp and profits enormous and stop the system from becoming overused)

NHL free Pick of the day by Ron for 21 January 2012

Nice to see everyone again. We are back in action for the big Saturday of games! Good night to take off last night as there was some unpredictable action, including a 5-4 SO come backer by Pittsburgh. As for our trends, we are coming straight off celebrating a Turkey. It was a last second shootout spin-o-rama, but we’ll take it. All we can say is, way to go three in a row!

Plenty of games to choose from. Because of the numerous match ups we’re going to put our record on the line and make two selections. One of the  ...

The goalies DO matter. A lot.

Like a pitcher in MLB, goalies in NHL DO MATTER. A lot. The goalie is not everything but it’s a big part of the success for the team.

Take a look at Tampa. They offense is hot but they allow 3-5 goals every game. How can you win like that?

Yesterday was one of those examples when zcode disqualified Flyers just because it saw Nabokov in the net. And it was a right move because he completely shut the flyers down.

The New York Islanders finally left Philadelphia with a victory after four frustrating years and 13 straight losses.  ...

Hot in the Desert!

Recap: Awesome win by the Ducks to put us over .500, “Quack, Quack, Quack.” The NHL thought Chicago was the blowout of the night until Anaheim came along. Anaheim gets the night off tonight, but maybe we can use our newly found knowledge for their next game. No time to worry about that tonight as we’re coming off two straight wins. You know what that means…going for the Turkey!

Tonight we give the NHL network game a well deserved night off. One of the toughest nights to choose a game of the night, with plenty of  ...

Zcode results: another great night with double wins

After a couple of bad days zcoders got a perfect 2-0 night where both Ducks and Chicago delivered “the full package” by winning with the same score 6-2

This means all kinds of hot trends hit right on those two games bringing us amazing profits:

In good and bad days, always remember that sports investing is a PROCESS. It’s not a one day wonder of every-day-winning holy grail. Our goal is to be profitable long term and the performance is proven.

NHL Pick of the day for 18 January by Ron

Recap: Felt good to beat a streak last night after failing to ride one the first time out. Both New York teams shutout their opponents 3-0 last night, did well picking one. Weird, there must be a knack for picking games that involve shutouts, that’s two in a row! With tonight’s effort we are out to break the .500 barrier.

Background: Four interesting games tonight and tough to choose just one. Going with the game on NHL Network and giving NBC a break this time. Our match up is the Phoenix Coyotes and the Anaheim Ducks who are no longer  ...

Stars DO matter.

Stars DO matter.

Yesterday we had a good example on how a small difference in stars can mean a big difference in results. After noticing Nabokov in the net Zcode disqualified Capitals from 4 to 3 stars and they could not even score against him. On the other hand 3.5 Star Sharks had a real hard time beating Flames at home.

Why? In professional sports teams the difference between players is smaller than you would expect. The bookies and mass media hype star players to draw more attention to specific teams and move the lines in their favor. So  ...

The Bet of the day by Ron: NHL Pick for 17 January

NHL Spotlight

To recap: The ultimate streak reversal has been completed. The red hot Ottawa Senators were impeached at home by the struggling Jets. On the bright side, we get an example of how one game can prove current streaks absolutely meaningless. Also, what better motivation to move on and break down the league than starting 0-1 with a shutout! The Detroit Red Wings highlighted the night with their record setting 14th home win in a row at the Joe Louis Arena.

For tonight’s games we look at the televised match up Nashville Predators versus the New York Rangers at  ...

Introducing new series: “The Bet Of The Day” by NHL expert Ron.
