World Series Predictions: Royals Giants – MLB Playoffs Picks

MLB World Series Prediction: Kansas City Royals Vs San Francisco Giants – Playoffs Picks

The Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants have had an impressive run. The Royals swept their way through the playoffs and the Giants found a way to win a series of tight games with the Cardinals and sneak in. Well, I got this one wrong. I thought burning your ace in the first round play-in game would render both of these rotations crippled. I thought neither Wild Card team had the depth to break through.

I look at this game both with my heart and my wallet. I want to see the Kansas City Royals win it all. I believe in small market baseball and this team is as hot as any team in playoff history. Further, the Giants did them a favor. Walking off means the series doesn’t extend and there will be no cooling off period for KC.

The bullpen is phenomenal,  ...

2014 MLB Playoffs: ALCS and NLCS Predictions

MLB Playoffs Bracket: ALCS and NLCS Predictions

What an exciting first round of the 2014 MLB Playoffs. Close games, epic comebacks, and unexpected results. All in all, we didn’t do too bad, but the San Francisco Giants upsetting the Washington Nationals was not something I saw coming. We nailed the Baltimore Orioles dominating their series, and we got the St. Louis Cardinals upset as well. That said, the burning hot Royals have been very impressive and I don’t think anyone predicted a sweep. All in all, we’re up over $1,000 on the season with an average bet around 50 bucks. If we can have a strong finish to the playoffs, this season will be another profitable one. Let’s move on to the seven-game series round.

Baltimore Orioles vs Kansas City Royals

I don’t think anyone is giving the Royals a chance, again, and that may prove to be a mistake. While the Orioles are on fire, the Royals have  ...

2014 NHL Predictions: Ducks, Kings, Sharks in Pacific Division Preview

2014 NHL Predictions: Pacific Division Preview – Ducks, Kings, Sharks

The 2014-15 season starts tomorrow, so we’ll post our final division preview before getting into game picks tomorrow. The Pacific division had three teams with a positive goal differential, which, not so coincidentally, meant three playoff teams last year. The LA Kings, who ultimately won another Stanley Cup, the top-seeded Anaheim Ducks, and the perennial postseason let downs, the San Jose Sharks. Does 2014 have anything new in store, or will this division play out exactly how it did last season? Can the newly renamed “Arizona Coyotes” squeak back into the playoffs?

San Jose Sharks (110 points) – Same team, same results. The San Jose Sharks are the most consistent team in the Pacific, which may be enough for a top seed as the rest of this division tinkers with their rosters. In any event, the mediocrity of this division will see the Sharks to another playoff spot where they  ...

NFL Picks Week Five: Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants

NFL Picks, Week Five: Atlanta Falcons (+4) at New York Giants The Atlanta Falcons are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings where, quite simply, they could not stop the run. The New York Giants have a balanced attack and should be able to move the ball against this porous defense. Can they stop Atlanta, though?

I recognize that this bet carries risk, as the Atlanta Falcons showed no real signs of turning things around. That said, I don’t think this Giants defense has the ability to stop the high-powered Falcons. They too are balanced, but for me, the Falcons are a better offense.

If we’re going toe-to-toe in a shootout, do you trust Jennings or Jackson and the rest of the Falcons backs? Manning or Ryan? Jones and White or Cruz and Larry Donnell? I think, in the end, the Falcons have more talent. Getting four points, for me, is icing on the cake. This should be a  ...
