NFL Preview 2018 Season

The NFL regular season is just a little over two weeks away. What can we expect this season? Do the Eagles have a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions? Will the Patriots regain their spot at the top? What other teams have the best chance to make it to the big game? Here’s my picks for the top six teams in each conference.

NCAAF 2018: College football kicks off August 25

The NCAA football season kicks off on August 25. According to top sportsbooks, the Alabama Crimson Tide have opened up the betting season with the best odds to win the NCAAF 2018 National Title. Nick Saban’s Alabama is +225 to win the title for the second season in a row.

Only three colleges have won the NCAAF National Championship. The other two are Clemson and Ohio State. The two programs had great 2017 seasons and sportsbooks have picked both as second and third favorites to win the National Championship, respectively.

The NFL preseason is in full swing. The regular season kicks off on September 6th with the NFL Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Atlanta Falcons. With a new NFL season kicking off, sportsbooks around the world have calculated the odds.

Once again, it is no surprise that the New England Patriots lead Super Bowl futures odds. New England quarterback Tom Brady is back for an 18th season under center. As long as the NFL’s best quarterback is still in a Patriots jersey, there is no reason New England won’t be expected to get to Super Bowl  ...

Philadelphia Eagles versus New England Patriots

In a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX in which the Patriots defeated the Eagles, 24-21, this is a much more even match than many initially saw it. Both teams finished 13-3. The Patriots scored 458 points and allowed 296, while the Eagles scored 457 and allowed 295. On the oscillators, New England holds a slight +30 to +29 advantage, while the Eagles are +7.78 to +7.11 on the Team Strength Oscillator. Both teams are in the top ten in Team Volatility. The Patriots have an obvious edge at quarterback, although Nick Foles played excellent  ...

They hold a slight +30 to +29 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and are “burning hot” versus “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator, however the Eagles hold a +7.03 to +4.84 numerical edge on that oscillator. The Vikings are first in points allowed and tenth in points scored, while the Eagles are third in points scored and fourth in points allowed.   ...

Vancouver Canucks versus Columbus Blue Jackets

The Canucks are sitting near the bottom of the Pacific Division while the Blue Jackets are in the upper tier in the Metropolitan Division. Near team are fairing well on the Team Strength Oscillator, “ice cold down” for Columbus and “dead” for Vancouver. Columbus has a +12 to +1 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and are tied for third in Team Volatility. Look for the Blue Jackets to take this one, pushing Vancouver further down in the standings.

Atlanta Falcons versus Philadelphia Eagles

There are factors that point in both directions, making this a difficult game to pick. The Falcons are a 2.5-point favorite, making the Eagles the first number one seed to be an underdog in a divisional playoff game. Atlanta has the edge on the Team Strength Oscillator with a “burning hot” status versus “average” for the Eagles. However, the Eagles still rank higher on the Power Ranking Indicator. The key to this game could be the play of Nick Foles. If he is even average, the Eagles had a good chance to win, but any  ...

Tennessee Titans versus Kansas City Chiefs

Tennessee enters a 7.5 point underdog after coming off a 9-7 regular season. The Chiefs have won their last four games and are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Titans are “ice cold down” and are at a +24 to +14 disadvantage on the Power Ranking Indicator.  Kansas City was the last meeting between the teams in December 2016 as a road underdog. From 32 teams to 12, the NFL Playoffs are ready to kickoff with the Wild Card weekend. It is survival of the fitness from now on in the NFL.

Sports books have made their minds up on who they believe will win Super Bowl LII. Of course, it is Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. MSU ‘s defense is good enough to hold Louisville down for a little while but eventually I think this could turn into a high scoring game. Louisville’s defense can be exploited both running and passing so I expect freshman quarterback Keytaon Thompson to eventually  ...
