Monday Night Baseball Betting: July 18, 2016
San Diego Padres at St. Louis Cardinals
The Padres are running hot but also haven’t won a series in St. Louis since 2011. Furthermore, the Cardinals are playing well, especially at home at continuing to fight for a playoff spot. Not to mention, the Cardinals are starting Mike Leake who’s been pitching well recently giving up one run in seven innings during his last start against Milwaukee. On the other side, the Padres are starting Friedrich who has lost his last three and averaged almost one run per inning in those matchups. This series heavily favors the Cardinals and an ABC progression is the appropriate betting strategy.
Cardinals .85 to win .5 ABC
Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals
The Indians are 6-10 against the injury riddled and underperforming Royals this season but are yet to book a win on the road against them. However, the Indians are playing well and have a huge pitching edge this series with their two aces, Salazar and Carrasco, in the upcoming matchups. Despite the home field advantage for the Royals, the Indians are the better team with the better pitchers starting and are therefore the team to bet.
Indians 1.56 to win 1 ABC
New York Mets at Chicago Cubs
