Betting the Thanksgiving Day NFL Games 2016
Here are Z-Code’s picks for today’s games so you can keep the gravy train flowin in more than one way.
Vikings at Lions
The Vikings are currently 2 point underdogs against the Lions in Detroit. These are two teams who have been favoring the Under and playing well against the spread in their last few weeks. The Vikings have been playing poorer than expected recently, only winning two of their last six, and the Lions have been playing well, winning 4 of their last six. With Diggs out I would not expect the Vikings to be able to put up big point totals we saw last week and I would likewise expect their stout defense to hold Detroit’s marginal offense to a low scoring game. For these reasons, we are recommending a teaser bet that pairs the Vikings against the spread with the over. Here is what it would look like:

Redskins at Cowboys
This will be, by far, the most interesting and fun to watch Thanksgiving day game. Here we have two potent offenses playing in a bitter divisional rivalry. The Redskins have found new life in the paired success of QB Kirk Cousins and newly starting RB Rob Kelley. The Cowboys have basically been a force since week 1. This is a divisional game where anything can happen and by “anything could happen” I mean I can see Washington winning this game. The line has been hovering around +7 points for the Redskins and if you can get them at that line, we say do it.

Steelers at Colts
The Steelers are coming off of a game where they absolutely decimated Cleveland on the defensive side of the ball to the point where their offense wasn’t really required to do much. Because Andrew Luck has failed to make it through concussion protocol and the Colts will be forced to start backup QB, Scott Tolzien. Interestingly enough, the Colts backup QB will then become their punter, Colt McAffey. While the Colts are nowhere close to being as bad as Cleveland, we can’t help but draw a comparison becuase the Colts with Tolzien behind the helm could very well be worse. Expect the Steelers to dominate here.
