While Eddie Lacy isn’t exactly running the ball effectively, the Packers are an impressive bunch with some semblance of balance on offense. That said, Detroit’s defense is gritty (read cheap), rushes the passer, and can shut down even the best offenses in the league. This should be a good one.

NBA Picks: Indiana Pacers (-2.5) at Detroit Pistons Yesterday I went out on a limb, featuring a weak computer signal because I thought LeBron James would be a little less sentimental in Miami than he was. Today, to make it up to you guys, we’ll feature a basketball game that the computer likes. With the algorithm as hot as it’s been in recent weeks, I’m confident in this one.

NHL Picks: Buffalo Sabres at Detroit Red Wings The line is a little rough, but the Detroit Red Wings have slumped long enough. It’s hard to believe that they have gone on losing like this. They jumped out to one of the best records in the league before this skid.

The score predictor thinks the Sabres can win, but there’s an 81% chance of victory for the Red Wings according to the algorithm. I don’t think the Sabres defense or goaltending is strong enough to shut down the Red Wings and in Detroit they’re a different team.

Everything balanced out and, either way, my system in the VIP Picks forum is 1-0 coming into Monday Night, and we can’t lose money but we can almost double up here.

I’m nervous about this one because the line seems to be baiting us into a wager on the Stars and I feel like the Oilers can’t lose forever. Dallas is a mediocre team on a nice run, but I’m not sure they’re completely reliable.
