Astros, Indians, Red Sox, Orioles: Tuesday Night MLB Picks From Z-Code

Astros, Indians, Red Sox, Orioles: Tuesday Night MLB Picks From Z-Code

After a winning weekend and a strange set of series openers on Monday, we at Z-code are here to give you more solid MLB picks.

New York Yankees at Houston Astros

Astros Moneyline, AB progression

The Yankees won the opening game of the series in Houston 2-1, but the Astros are by far the better team and have their two ace pitchers slated for tonight and tomorrow night’s games. Tonight’s game with Fister vs. Sabathia represents a strong pitching edge for Houston and an easy opportunity for a win. However, Wednesday night’s game with McCullers vs. Tanaka will represent a likely low scoring pitcher’s battle that will be a more difficult win for Houston. Tonight’s game is a huge opportunity for Houston and a high-confidence pick for Z-code. Furthermore, the Astros haven’t been swept since May and it’s unlikely that that will change at the hands of a Yankees team facing a firesale.

Washington Nationals at Cleveland Indians

Indians Moneyline, AB progression

The AL Central leading Indians are facing the NL East leading Nationals in a two game inter-league series that should be exciting to watch. Both teams are currently slumping, but Cleveland is rolling out its two aces and therefore has a big advantage. Tonight’s game represents the more favorable of the two matchups, but Cleveland is z-code’s pick to win both. Therefore, an AB progression is the best strategy for this series.

Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox

Red Sox Moneyline

The Red Sox have struggled to build momentum losing three of their last four after looking nearly invincible after the all star break. They lost the series opener to Detroit last night but have an opportunity for a bounce back game with Wright on the mound tonight. Wright is currently ranked 8 with an at-home ERA of 3.2 and is facing Peffrey who has only 3 wins this season and an ERA of 4.78. This game should be an easy win for Boston who is still trying to chase down Baltimore for the division.

Colorado Rockies at Baltimore Orioles

Orioles Moneyline

The Rockies are a bad team that has been playing well recently. However, despite the Orioles momentum and sheer talent this season, this pick boils down to one thing: Chris Tillman. He’s currently 14-2 with an ERA of 1.29 in his last three starts (all wins). He’s virtually unstoppable and against Chad Bettis (ERA 5.61) he will surely shine. This should be an easy scoop for the Orioles as the steep line indicates (-196). However, we still see value here.
