The Cowboys shocked the world by covering the spread before a not-so-shocking Tony Romo interception cost the Cowboys a chance at knocking off the unbeaten Broncos.

Still, I love the way they played. Romo was able to put together one of the finest performances of his career because of the balance the Cowboys finally have on offense. Murray is a bruising back and the Cowboys have a plethora of weapons.

It’s a college football day, but there’s some really great hockey to watch as well. From the bunch, we like this one with a good deal of confidence as our play of the day.

The St. Louis Blues are a good team in a great system. They have an excellent coach, and their goaltending tandem may be among the best in hockey again this year. Defensively they’re very deep, and they’re starting to put together some chemistry-driven lines that get the job done.

MLB Playoffs Predictions: ALCS and NLCS – Dodgers Vs Cardinals, Red Sox Vs Tigers

ALCS Prediction:

The Boston Red Sox defied the odds this season. They bounced back from a horrible season, put a legitimate coach in place, and turned around a pitching staff that was falling apart. It’s impressive, but I think this is where it ends for the Sox.

The Rays were the weakest team in the postseason, and despite wanting to see them upset Boston, we kind of knew it wouldn’t happen. The Tigers are much better.

I love Detroit’s rotation. Anchored by a one-two punch of Scherzer and Verlander, and supported by Fister and Sanchez, I think they have an edge over Boston. The bigger edge, however, I think is in this lineup. Cabrera and Prince should be able to power the Tigers through the Red Sox.

Is there a team in football right now worse than the Giants? Of course there is – the Jaguars – but after that? The New York media is calling for Tom Coughlin’s head. Not much to choose from tonight, so we’re reaching a little bit with a low confidence, non-system play. These are too sloppy teams right now, but both are immensely talented and anchored by skilled goaltending. This should be a fun one to watch.
