NFL Picks November 23: Rams host Buccaneers in featured game

The NFL season is nearly two-thirds in the book, and teams are battling for coveted playoff spots. There are some great matchups for November 23. I will focus on four games, with an NFC battle between the Rams and Buccaneers in the headlined game.

Pittsburgh Steelers versus Chicago Bears

The Bears are “burning hot” after a 5-1 stretch over the last six games, and the Steelers are “average” and sitting at 6-4 on the season, first in the AFC North. Chicago is a 2.5-point home favorite with odds of 1.714 to 2.200 with an over/under of 46.5. The teams are trending in games “under” the line, and betting “under” is a five-star pick at 81 percent. The Steelers are 4-2 at home and the Bears are 4-2 on the road. Pittsburgh has a scoring differential edge of +14 to -6. Chicago is +26 to +20 on the Power Ranks Indicator, while both teams are moderately consistent regarding their favorite/underdog status.   The Bears’ hot streak has to come to an end at some point, and I think it happens this week. I like the Steelers to win a game “under” the line.

Indianapolis Colts versus Kansas City Chiefs

The Colts come in with a two-game lead in the AFC South, while the Chiefs are 5-5 and a distant third in the AFC West. Indianapolis is “burning hot” versus “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +27 to +12 on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the “over/under” line, with the “under” a five-star pick at 95 percent. Kansas City is a 3.5-point home favorite with odds of 1.541 to 2.550 with an over/under of 50.5. The Colts are the more stable team according to the Team Volatility Oscillator.  This is as close to a must-win for the Chiefs as possible with only seven games remaining. I like them to win and cover the game “under” the line at home.

Jacksonville Jaguars versus Arizona Cardinals

These teams are heading in opposite directions. The Jaguars are 6-4 and “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator, while the Cardinals are deep in the NFC West cellar at 3-7.  Jacksonville is a 2.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.667 to 2.250 with an over/under of 47.5. Betting “under” is a five-star pick at 90 percent.  Jacksonville is a solid 2-2 on the road, but the Cardinals are a dismal 1-4 at home. In addition, the Jaguars have a +14 to -32 scoring differential edge. Both teams are relatively consistently performing regarding their favorite/underdog status. I like the Cardinals’ woes to continue, picking the Jaguars to win and cover in a game “under” the line.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus Los Angeles Rams

The Buccaneers hold first in the NFC South, but are “average down” after dropping three of the last four. The Rams have won five straight, “burning hot” and tops in the NFC West. Los Angeles is a 6.5-point home favorite with odds of 1.286 to 3.750 with an over/under of 49.5. The teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the line with a score prediction of 36-20 in favor of the Rams with 56 percent confidence. Tampa Bay is 4-2 on the road, and Los Angeles is 4-1 at home. The Rams are one of the most stable teams in the league and also have a huge scoring differential advantage of +100 to +2. I like the Rams are home to win by double digits in a game “over” the line.
