MLB Picks Contest: St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants
It’s a contest day, which means we’ve got another coin flip here. From a betting perspective, I simply see no value in this one. The road team is a favorite, which is always tricky. Two aces are doing battle, and both can shut down the other team’s lineup.
I don’t think the Giants are a good team, but they’ve played well this year. I think the Cardinals are in fact a great team, but they’re on a skid. They turn to Wainwright to stop the bleeding, which is usually a good option when you’re in a slump like this.
Wainwright can certainly shut down this weak Giants lineup, and he’s a personal favorite of mine. My lean is to the Cardinals, but I certainly won’t be putting any money on this one.
