NFL Picks: New York Giants at Washington Redskins, Sunday Night Football

The New York Giants have truly turned their season around. They face a Washington Redskins team that a few weeks ago many would have considered an obviously superior team. In the past few weeks, however, the Skins have collapsed. Looking to continue our success from Thanksgiving, we have a tough pick on national television tonight for Sunday Night Football.

I think momentum has no role in evaluating this game. Yes, the Redskins are certainly on a slide and the Giants have been incredibly hot. However, in a rivalry of this magnitude on a big stage, both teams will fight. For me this comes down to match ups.

The way RGIII is playing, I think Eli Manning has an edge. The Giants passing attack is versatile and dynamic in a way that the Redskins haven’t been in years. Brown gives the Giants a running dimension and balance. I think the Giants offense wins this game for them.

Z-Code agrees. The game is essentially a coin flip, with pick ’em odds and only a 55% signal for the Redskins. As such, the slight underdog status of the Giants has some value in certain sports books. The algorithm is conflicted, but what little sign there is points to the Giants.

I like a teaser here, +8 for New York. I also like the Giants against the spread. I expect a tight game and it should be a lot of fun to watch.

Giants 24 – Redskins 20
