1. Hi Simon. I know you are a professional soccer player from Sweden.
Please tell us more about yourself.
Hello Mike! Yes that’s correct i play for Malmö FF in Sweden, my names is Simon Thern i play as a central midfielder and iam 21 years old!
I was born in Värnamo a small city in Sweden, but directly after i was born we went to Naples as my father played for Napoli at that time, yes he was also and pro footballer and played also in his beginning he played for Malmö FF then FC Zurich, Benfica, Napoli, Roma and Glasgow Rangers.
I was raised in Italy and i started school in Scotland in Glasgow, When i was 7 years old we moved back to Sweden to Värnamo, and i started to play in a small club IFK Värnamo, when i became 18 years old i moved to Helsingborg and started to play in highest level and we manage to win the league, cup and super cup! 2012 1 year after the 3 titles we managed to win in Helsingborg i moved to their worst rivals Malmö FF and i got death threats etc but i managed to stay strong and i never regret that i did that move because my time in Malmö has been fantastic!
Last year we managed to win both league and super cup and i took many good steps in my development as a soccer player!
2. It’s always interesting for our readers to learn more about betting
from the pro-players point of view. What is the difference for you
being a player and being a sports investor?
Being a professional footballer is a life style, you live with football everyday and everything you eat, drink etc you must do the right way to maximize and get as far as your talent can take you! So preparation is everything and in sport investing you also need to be well prepared and every information you can get who affects the outcome of the game you need to find.
3. A lot of people who know sport very well usually fail when it comes
to betting because betting is not just knowing sports and stats but
having a sound and solid system and money management plan. What do you
think about it? How do you avoid such issue?
I think people just bet without getting any information who is suspended, injuries, motivation everything affects the outcome. Positive mind thinking makes it easier for you to get profit long term, i use atm at my system flat bets so i try to get as well prepared of every game i bet on so i don’t miss any key information with my plays.
4. What are your biggest challenges in sport and in sport investing?
To be consistent and never doubt your system or your plays! If you have history of doing profit do never loose faith in it, i crashed many bank rolls so i know! But Zcode community learnt me a lot and I’ve starting to raise my bankrolls slow but steady! Don’t use to big units for your bankroll if you need 200 units for KISS example you must have 200 units not 80 or 100, then you get profit long term!
5. I cant help but ask, do the “fixed” games still exist in minor
leagues in soccer? How can they fix the game in soccer?
Thats a big problem especially in the lower division leagues, you can bet on close to every game in the whole while world! They pay for example the keeper maybe 30k and they say loose the game today, and they loose. But the thing is how can you prove that the keeper did let these goals in by purpose? Its quite tough to get enough evidence to get these players who does this..
6. Are pro players not allowed to bet on games they play themselves?
You are not allowed to bet on games like for me on Malmö FF even if its the Under 21 team or the Under 18. And absolutely not in games you play yourself.
7. Can 1 player control the outcome of the soccer game? What are the
most important factors analysing socccer game?
1 player can change the outcome but control a whole game is quite hard, of course individual skilled players like Ronaldo, Messi, Zlatan etc can be the differences in a game but still you have 10 players behind you and all of them are very important for the game and to be a winning team you need 11 players to work well together.
To get all the information you need. Because like Kalmar yesterday they got 2 new defenders that hasn’t played together before and you know that its quite hard to loose 2 of your best players at the back and replace them with 2 new ones in just one game. They had let in 5 goals in 9 games and yesterday they let in 4 so you can predict some and of course it does not always end as you think it should but if you are always prepared and you get all the information you could to predict what happens in the game you get in long term get success.
8. Some people say soccer is hardest to predict because you have 3rd
outcome DRAW. How to avoid it and still win?
I don’t always play for one team to win some times you can play like asian hcp +0.5 then a draw is still a win. Also under and over goals is just 2 outcomes so still you don’t need to se draw as something bad you can take advantage of it to.
9. Are smaller leagues more profitable comparing to major leagues and
championships in soccer?
Some of them, yes. If we go to 4th and 5th division in sweden you could get good information like today we play without 5 players because they going to party, who usually plays.. Its not so serious in the lower division as in the higher! I have some friends who plays in the lower division and they usually have good knowledge about the teams in their league!
10. You plan to release some high confidence bets, tell us more about
your system and past results?
Ive been paper betting for a while and i made quite good profit and i started to release my bets on the wall when i felt quite confident of doing profit. To be honest Zcode have learnt me close to everything in betting and to stay to the system and you must accept a loss and don’t over bet. I rank my bets in confident 1-3 units and i use let say 10$ each unit. Then i have 100 unit bank roll.
11. Lets get to World Cup that is starting very soon. Can you list
your favorites in each group?
A. Brazil playing with amazing players and home no doubt!
B.Spain, i think they will as usual be in semifinals at least.
C. Ivory coast, a lot of good players and the other nations are quite weak.
D. Uruguay, amazing offensive players that could be a nightmare for both England and Italy.
E. France, probably the weakest group in the WC and i think they will go through without problem.
F. Argentina, Messi, Aguero, Di maria, Higuain. The best offense in WC.
G. Germany, this nation is always at their best when it comes to WC also this time.
H. Belgium a lot of young talented players who hopefully will do well.
12. … And teams to go to finals and win it all?
Brazil or Germany.
13. Your tips to people who bet soccer?
Try to get all the information who can change the outcome of the game and never stop believing!
