Geoffrey’s long anticipated interview. Really great one! One of the best I’ve ever read.
1. Hi Geoff.! Please tell us more about yourself, where are you from?
I am from the Midlands in England, quite close to Stratford-upon-Avon where someone called Shakespeare was born, not sure he was into soccer, but believe he liked a game of darts.

2. How did you start your sports investing career?
My career sort of evolved I guess. I have always been interested in sports, mathematics, probability and so I guess it was natural that these came together. Many, many years ago when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was bought a Sinclair Spectrum for Christmas by my father. While some kids were playing games, I came up with a basic program for picking winners for horse races. My first race meeting was at York, placed a number of 3 race parlays, plus one 6 race parlay. 5 out of 6 came in, I won a bit of money, but would have won over £12,000 if that other horse had have come in. For some strange reason, I was hooked!

3. Your SUPer -3.5 (Soccer parlay system) is off to a great start. Tell us more on how you created it? What parameters are you looking at?
I was thinking of a number of strategies, including a +1.5 goal parlay system, then when I joined the wall that evening Cyril and Stuart were talking about a +1.5 goal strategy, the rest of the story as they say is history!! We stopped the +1.5 strategy, but have just relaunched it. Stuart wanted an Under 3.5 parlay system, which at first I wasn’t keen on, thank God he kept nagging!
I worked with a friend of mine to produce a nifty piece of software that comes up with a list of possible matches for the Under and Over strategies. I send these over to Stuart who puts them through his filters and then he sends the successful ones back to me. I put them through my filters and then we decide on the parlay. By using the software it saves us putting too many matches through our filters and saves us time, after all if we put our hands in the barrel to pull out a nugget of gold, we do not want to trawl through too much brown sticky stuff. We prefer sticking to certain leagues well known for high or low goal percentages, look at current home/away form as well as head to heads, then we also add X the gut feeling.

4. You’ve been a rock star in Zcode lately always being near the top of the Hot Expert list! Tell us more about your mindset and zcode community.
Many of the true experts of ZCode, Trey, Alberto, Cyril, Mudrac, Cliff, Mark, Pimp and the many who I have missed, have learnt their trade prior to ZCode, most of them have learnt the hard way, this most definitely includes me. I have learnt the hard way, made mistakes, I have run after losses, not kept sufficient records, leapt from scheme to scheme, each mistake I have learnt from, each mistake I have made has helped me be the person I am now.
ZCode has not only provided me with the canvas to help me produce I hope works of art, but has also provided me with shoulders to lean on, ears to bend, friends to meet and help….it has helped me to focus…ZCode is the greatest and most powerful tool of metamorphosism in the world.
5. What other sports are you betting and following?
Well, currently I am not investing. I decided to take a 1 month sabbatical, helping me to totally immerse myself with new strategies, get things straight at home (like spending many days on top of a roof fixing leaks etc). I know the experts I am going to follow come January 1st. My main sports are of course soccer and horse racing, of course I follow the main US sports, because of some of the experts I follow.

6. You’ve been recording very helpful videos and tutorials, tell us more about them and your tips to the fans and followers.
Don’t run before you can walk. Rome was not built in a day and don’t ask Wolverine to give you a prostate examination. Before you start building a house, don’t bother choosing wallpaper before you have checked the foundations, the guys that learnt their mistakes before the advent of ZCode, if you ignore them, you are in the wrong business. There are lots of great new guys joining ZCode, but please, check out and learn from the masters first, then you can start choosing the wallpaper.

7. What is your vision for the next 3 years?
Cement myself within ZCode.
Continue to help anyone who asks.
Continue to increase my bankroll and pass the figure I set in 2007. (When I pass it, I’ll tell you what it is).
Design a strategy for MLB.
And keeping Henry fit, well and happy.
I truly believe anyone seriously interested in sport’s investing should get a dog. When things are not going well, they provide support that only a true dog lover can appreciate, and when you think you can walk on water….they help keep you grounded. Get a dog!!!

8. My favourite question, what makes great people great?
A great person always puts others first, forget the flashiness, great people are made of more substantial stuff.
A great person is a giver and a taker.
A great person fails time and time again, but never quits.
A great person never belittles others, they encourage and make others feel they too can achieve greatness.
