WEEK 16:
QB
Blake Bortles
BB Gun has turned out to be an elite QB in the making. He has a team full of young weapons in the allens and tj yeldon plus an elite TE in julius thomas. He has a great matchup at home against the saints secondary who for all purposes is a collegiate level defense. Blake has value written all over him. Pair him with one of his receivers.
Ben Roethlisberger
Ben Ben is a force to be reckoned with and he has the benefit of playing the most generous pass defense in the league- the ravens. Ben has a high price, but he’s an elite QB with elite receivers who has struck matchup gold. I love him.
Cam Newton
I did everyone here the disservice of avoiding cam newton last week. Part of this is because I kind of hate him and the other part is because I legitimately believed he couldn’t continue the pace he’s set over the last few weeks. I was wrong and I’m sorry. Cam Newton is a monster and he’s here because literally no one has stopped him yet. He’s expensive, but we can find value elsewhere. Double down on him and olsen.
RB
David Johnson
He was one of my homeruns last week. The cardinals have a potent offense and find a way to run the ball down their opponents throats even though they have one of the best quarterbacks in football. David Johnson is one of the rare three down backs who can easily go 20/100/1 and 7/100/1. His floor is around 15 and his ceiling is in the 50s. His matchup against greenbay isn’t great but his price is. Start him.
Denard Robinson
He was kind of a dud last week, but I stand by him. He will get a hefty workload and he’s mediocre enough to turn that into something good for us. I don’t recommend going all in on the jags in any of your lineups, so don’t start him and bortles and robinson and thomas. However, he’s the best value of all the jax skill playerss so robinson needs to be in at least a couple lineups.
James White
Hes a super value pick, but he’s the lead rusher and pass catching back on the most potent offense in the NFL. At his DK price of 4700 he’s great.
Charcandrick West
Is Charmander and elite RB? no. Is chairmanned playing the cleveland browns? yes. Start him. I’d start my grandma against the browns.
Devonta Freeman
Devonta Freeman has fallen from fantasy legend to typical fantasy goodness but his price tag is still sky high. Tevin Coleman is out this week with a concussion from slipping in the shower. Freeman put up his best numbers when coleman was injured. The difference in touches won’t be huge because coleman wasn’t getting much work to begin with. However, knowing he’ll be in the game on about 99% of the snaps is definitely comforting. I don’t love his matchup against carolina, but the falcons at home are better than on the road and the only way they seem to win games is when they give the ball to devonta 1000 times. In a must win situation for the falcons, i like DF’s odds here.
Matt Forte
With Alshon Jeffrey doubtful and Eddie Royal banged up, I expect forte to catch a ton of passes out of the backfield.
WR
Antonio Brown
Hes a monster, a target machine, and a big play making colossus. Antonio Brown is borderline must start against anyone but playing the ravens you’d be a fool not to find a way to squeeze him in.
Martavis Bryant
He’s basically Diet Antonio Brown- if you’re feeling stingy start bryant over brown and save $1000. They’re both going to shred baltimore.
Kamar Aiken
This is guy is new and great and really the only person worth throwing the ball to on the ravens. Pitt’s pass defense is beatable and the ravens will be throwing the ball A LOT in order to stay in this game. I love Aiken here.
Allen Robinson
Playing NO. Enough said.
Emmanuel Sanders
This guy has emerged as potentially the favorite target for new QB brock osweiler. I don’t love him against a marginal Bengals defense. But I think he’s worth a start.
Eddie Royal
Its looking like Alshon might not play. If thats the case, eddie royals value goes way up.
Corey Brown
This is a total flier. Des Trufant is one of the best CBs in the NFL and will probably shut Ted Ginn Down. Cam will, however, find someone to throw the ball to. I like Brown for an above-average outing this weekend.
Travis Benjamin
Another good value player who could easily explode.
TE
Greg olsen
Julius Thomas
