NHL Picks: Tampa Bay Lightning at Buffalo Sabres
If not for a monumental collapse, last night’s forum posts would have been up around five units. At the core of that was a game where we predicted the exact pace, flow, and final score. We’re off to a solid start to the NHL season as our NHL picks featured on this page have shown.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are a good team. This offense will skate circles around a meager Buffalo Sabres defensive unit. Both teams have their backup goalies in, so this one could get out of hand. The Lightning defense is weak and they’re giving up a lot of goals lately, but the Sabres will be by far the weakest team they face during this bad stretch.
The Lightning have no momentum right now on the road. They’ve got a backup goalie in and they just aren’t scoring. This goes slightly against my system here in those regards. Further, there is conflict in the system from the computer, showing five-star underdog value on a -150 line with only a 42% chance of victory. The computer thinks the Lightning will win but there’s not any value in the line. I agree that this is a little sharp for the situation.
Still, I think the cream rises to the top on this one. I’m taking the Bolts.
