NHL Picks: Calgary Flames at San Jose Sharks
The San Jose Sharks have been stumbling through this season. They’ve looked old, sloppy, thin defensively, and you can probably even question their goaltending. The once “sure thing” of a San Jose Sharks home win against weak teams is now squarely in question at just 11-9 against the spread this season. That said, the Sharks have won four of six and finally look sharp again.
The line is a little sharp but there’s value here. The Calgary Flames are just four points behind the Sharks, but they’re the inferior team. This is game three on the road for them, and coming into this road trip they were just a .500 team on the road.
With fatigue, some travel, and being on the road all weighing against the Flames here, I like the Sharks. They’re a good team starting to find their stride a little in recent games. They play some of their best hockey at the Shark Tank over the years and I think this is about when the playoff teams will start their surges.
The computer agrees, giving 62% chance of victory and two stars of value to the home team. It’s a low confidence pick, but we’re on it.
