NFL Picks Week Three: Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Three: Sunday Night Football – Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers

This is one of many interesting trap games this week. The line seems to lend a ton of value to the Chicago Bears, and while I and the rest of the community are on them with some degree of confidence, let me explain why there’s some risk involved in this pick.

First of all, the Chicago Bears line is an abomination. Jay Cutler is on his back more than Jenna Jameson in her prime – before all those plastic surgery operations messed up her face.

Second of all, and feeding off my first concern, the Pittsburgh Steelers defense is among the best-coached in football. Their gameplan is likely going to lead to Jay Cutler playing this game under a lot of pressure.

Lastly, this game is on the road on national TV. Usually, the home team proudly stands up to the challenge and puts on a show.

Still, I’m medium confidence on the Bears -1 because they’re quite simply the better team. Chicago is going up against a Steelers offense that has been among the most inept in football so far. While I have some concerns about Chicago moving the ball, I don’t think Pittsburgh will be able to do all that much offensively either. I think at worst, this turns into a battle that the Bears’ superior talent helps them through. At best, the Bears blow the Steelers away.

Either way, this line appears to have a ton of value. Unless the Steelers magically transform into a better football team by game time, I feel pretty comfortable that Chicago is better on both sides of the ball.

It’s never fun to trust Jay Cutler with a high confidence wager, but Z-Code and I are on the Bears here.
