NFL Picks: Sunday Night football – San Francisco 49ers at New York Giants

The time has come for the San Francisco 49ers to accept that Colin Kaepernick is just not that good. You know who might be pretty good? Carlos Hyde. There’s no reason to be down by 4 for most of a game and not pump the ball to the bruising running back. Kaepernick is personally responsible for the slow start of the San Francisco 49ers, and so is the play calling that isn’t making the running game the focus of the offense.

The New York Giants have a solid secondary. Eli Manning and the Giants offense is balanced and consistent. Sure, Manning might be the foolish orchestrator of two impressively ridiculous losses, but he’s having a solid year. I think the Giants will move the ball enough at home to win the game.

My one fear with this one is that the San Francisco 49ers realize what they have in Carlos Hyde. The New York Giants have looked soft against the run at times, and if the Niners can keep this one close maybe there’s hope for a road upset on national television. The line is a little sharp and the public money, as always on Sunday Night, is being manipulated.

Still, I think the better team wins here.
