The NFL season has reached the 7th week and there are 14 teams within one game of the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best record in the league. There are 12 games scheduled for Sunday, October 19. I will make picks for four of those game with the 49ers clashing with the Falcons in the featured game.
New England Patriots versus Tennessee Titans
The Patriots are one of the surprise teams in the league entering this week at 4-2. They are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +29 on the Power Ranks Indicator. The Titans have struggled to a 1-5 start, “dead” status and +1 on the Power Ranks Indicator. New England is a 6.5-point favorite with odds of 1.294 to 3.700 with an over/under of 42.5. The “over” is a 4-star pick and the Patriots are a 4.5-star game winner pick. New England has a +30 to -78 scoring differential edge. In addition the Titans are 0-2 at home, while the Patriots are 3-0 on the road. I like New England to win and cover the spread in a game “over” the line.
Indianapolis Colts versus Los Angeles Chargers
The Colts enter tied for the top record in the NFL at 5-1. They are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator while the 4-2 Chargers are “average up” after breaking a two-game skid last week. Los Angeles is a 1.5-point home favorite with odds of 1.769 to 2.100 with an over/under of 48.5. Betting the “under” is a 5-start pick at 86 percent. The Colts have a +31 to +25 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator and +78 to +2 in scoring differential. Indianapolis has also been the more stable team at +4 to 0 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. The Chargers are 2-1 at home and the Colts are 1-1 on the road. I like the Chargers to edge the Colts by a field goal in a game “under” the line.
Washington Commanders versus Dallas Cowboys
In this NFC East rivalry tame, the Cowboys host the Commanders. Washington is 3-3 and “burning hot”, while Dallas is 2-3-1 and “average down”. Washington is a 1.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.769 to 2.100 with an “over/under” of 54.5. Betting the “under” is a 5-star pick at 95 percent. Washington has won five consecutive games as favorites and has a +32 to -6 scoring differential edge. In addition, they are more consistently performing with regard to their favorite/underdog status. Washington won both games between the teams last year and the last four overall. I like that trend to continue in a game “under” the line.
Atlanta Falcons versus San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are coming off a loss and are 4-2 on the season, while the Falcons have won the last two and are 3-3. Atlanta is “burning hot” versus “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator and the 49ers are +23 to +18 on the Power Ranks Indicator. The 49ers are 1.5-point home favorites with odds of 1.741 to 2.150 with an over/under of 47.5 Betting the “under” is a 5-star pick at 87 percent. The Falcons are 1-1 on the road and the 49ers are 1-1 at home. Despite a 4-2 record, the 49ers are -2 in scoring differential. Neither team is particularly stable in accordance to the Team Volatility Oscillator. This game feels like a toss of the coin with the 49ers a 0-star game winner pick and the Falcons a 1.5-star underdog value pick. I am going with the team with the hot hand and that is the Falcons but pass on the “over/under” bet.
