NFL – SUNDAY FEATURED FOOTBALL PICK – Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans, 11/4; Is Jay Cutler Healthy?
Basketball is off to a great start in our featured selections. The Celtics ML won (and so did the Z-Code spread pick) yesterday, and the Knicks pulled off a big upset to hit our ML and Spread upset pick. Can we transition it into some more football success?
There are a lot of strange spreads this Sunday. Public money is extremely lopsided, and Vegas seems to think this is their week to make a move. Personally, I still like the favorites – even on the road. The Chicago Bears are no exception as they visit a suddenly-hot Tennessee Titans team.
The Bears have been sloppy lately, but continue to find ways to win. Jay Cutler looked injured against the Lions and hasn’t been effective since being thrown aggressively to the turf. Still, the Bears are a very complete team. If Cutler was indeed hurt, he should be fully healthy by now. After an incredible one-point win last week and a strong defensive performance against the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears have won five games in a row.
I think the spread of 3.5 is reasonable, and I’m buying this down to 3 points. I expect the Chicago Bears defense to control the Titans’ running game, which will put too much pressure on Tennessee’s weak passing game. I don’t see the Titans being able to shut down a balanced Bears attack.

Considering all CHicago’s momentum, the superior talent level of the Bears, the balanced roster, the strong difference in power rankings and Chicago’s momentum, the only real reason for hesitation here is that the Bears will be playing on the road.
