NFL Picks and Predictions, Monday Night Football: Bears 49ers

NFL Featured Game – MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL — Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers

Sorry for not featuring a game yesterday. If it’s any consolation, it would have been the Ravens on Sunday night and the game pushed at -3. No harm, no foul. We finished Sunday up 8 units on the NFL and 3.7 units on our impressive NBA filter system. Teaser of the day also hit and is now undefeated since we started publishing it in the VIP forum. The NBA system is up 25 units while the teasers are up 3 this week. In NFL bets, we’ve had great success as well.

Personally, with 53 units of profit over the last two weeks, this is my most profitable two-week period since becoming a professional handicapper. I admit that I could never do it without Z-Code and urge you take a look at our VIP Club. You will win if you stick to the Z-Code system, and these featured games are just a taste of the published bets available on Z-Code.

So, for your daily spoonful of Z-Code magic, here is the Monday Night Football game:

The Chicago Bears are without Jay Cutler, but Jason Campbell is one of the more talented backups in the NFL. He’s certainly not as talented as Cutler, but he’s capable. Still, backup quarterbacks are unlikely to play well against a defense as talented as the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers have been struggling lately, marked by games like last week where the Rams handed the Niners a tie that very easily could have been a loss. On a national stage against a wounder Bears team, expect their best effort. Unfortunately, at this point in the season, their best efforts might not be enough. Further, I’m not so sure they can win by a touchdown to cover the spread.

Z-Code has mixed feelings on this one. While one computer parameter puts the odds at 75% that the 49ers win this game outright, another shows value on the Bears and a weak signal on the Niners. These conflicting parameters, as you know by now, tend to be a sign to stay away. The odds at covering a 7 point spread are put at a coin-flip 51%, but the line is falling as gametime approaches. At 6.5, there is more value to be had.

The computer has a weak lean on the Niners, and likes them best in a teaser or parlay play. I have a very low confidence play out on the Niners at home. Their struggles make me nervous, but the quarterback situation in Chicago could decide this game.

The over under is ugly. At just 36 points, the Bears defense could cover the over by themselves (see the Titans game). Still, with two weak quarterbacks going against two excellent defenses, the under could hit as well. All in all, I don’t like it as a parlay or teaser option with the ML. There simply isn’t a good combination play on the board on Monday — perhaps a teaser with the Memphis Grizzlies could work best.

All in all, it’s probably best to stay away. Since we never do that on Monday Night, I’m on the Niners with limited confidence. I also will dabble with a teaser with the Memphis Grizzlies (though cross-sport teasers always bother me for some reason).

49ers 20 – Bears 11
