MLB Picks and Predictions: Toronto Blue Jays at Oakland Athletics
This one has caused quite a stirring conversation in the VIP forum, and as a key part of this debate, I figured I’d feature our “no bet” decision on Facebook.
My argument as to why it is best to stay away:
nine runs from the Athletics? If they can slug like that theyre dangerous. I dont think they can keep that up though, and still see conflict from zcode and no value in the line.

I was then accused of not liking the Athletics, which is true. I don’t trust them. Here’s why:
the As lineup has only a few decent hitters in it… further, they play in a ball park with more foul ground than any other park in baseball. This lineup goes cold for long stretches, and cespedis is the only hitter I respect. I dont trust teams that cant mash their way to victory. Oakland is upper-level mediocrity in my evaluations, and nothing more.
I want a team that can hit their way to wins when pitching falters, pitch their way to wins when hitting falters, and annihilate teams for comfortable wins when both matchups go our way. –> thats not the As, so i tend to stay away.
I like to see the As win, but I dont like to bet on them.

So, I maintain that this is a dangerous game. Several experts think the A’s take it easily. Only one other expert is on my side here in the VIP Forum. Still, with division amongst experts, conflicting z-code parameters, and a weak edge at best to the As… why press?
