MLB Picks: St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers
Adam Wainwright is one of my favorites. He’s reliable and consistent, and he plays for a team that is also reliable and consistent. The St. Louis Cardinals rarely “fail to show up” and even on the road you can trust them in progressions with pitching edges. Once again, I’ve got an AB doubler that is carried by the strength of Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn coming right behind him.
The St. Louis Cardinals are a vastly superior team. The Milwaukee Brewers have looked absolutely atrocious to start the season. The lineup, already mediocre at best, is depleted by injuries and the pitching staff has been smacked around a bit early in the season. Moreover, the Cards are clicking and have some momentum in this series. With their 1-2 punch coming through the back end of the series, it looks like a perfect time for an AB Doubler.
My only hesitation is that the Cardinals are on the road. The bats were quieted slightly in the first game of this series, but the Cards have every other parameter in my system strongly in their favor. I have a sharp pitching edge for both games, I have the Cardinals lineup and overall play being much stronger, they have way more momentum after the Brewers got off to such a horrible start, and Z-Code is all over this one with five stars of value and a 62% chance in Game Two. The value in the line isn’t bad, so we move forward with a pretty average sized progression wager here.
Cardinals 5 – Brewers 2, AB Doubler
