MLB Picks: Pittsburgh Pirates at Atlanta Braves
To be clear, there are no plays in my baseball system in the VIP Club forum today. With all the excitement of the MLB Playoffs right around the corner, I see no reason to really force it. I don’t feel strongly enough about any of the games, we’ve made money on a lot of the series already (like this one), and there’s no statistical edge opportunities for a progression.
The computer sees a nice underdog edge here in the Delta System. It makes sense, it’s basically the reason we launched an ABC progression on this series in the first place before winning game one. They’re the hotter team with better pitching, and the Braves have fallen off the face of the earth. I understand the underdog value on the road team here, as the Pirates battle for a divisional title.
That said, I just don’t see a big enough edge to bite. The pitching favors the Braves, while home field gives them a level of comfort that could snap their losing streak. Meanwhile, the Pirates have all the momentum after celebrating a playoff berth last night to cap off a nice winning streak. They’re the better team, and this Braves lineup is dead.
For me, going against Julio Teheran and facing the Braves in Atlanta after two wins already just isn’t worth it, so my forum is off it. Still, the computer gives a strong signal, and there does appear to be some value here for the Pirates.
