MLB Picks: New York Mets at Washington Nationals
The Nats can be a little bit infuriating at times, and last night was one such occasion. The lineup didn’t show up, the pitching was mediocre, the game got away from them as a result, and a bad team came into DC and beat up on them.
I don’t think this series can continue like that for long. The Nationals are the better team, and I think they’ll wake up the bats a little in support of the better pitcher, Doug Fister. At home with decent value in the line against a weak team like the Mets, I expect a series progression to come through.
There’s a little bit of conflict in the algorithm, with a strong signal for the Nationals to win a money line wager, but also value on the underdog team that is getting hot. Still, I think the disparity between the two parameters is too great and will ignore this value output. I lean to the Nationals despite the conflict in the computer signal.
So, with moderate confidence on a progression, we move forward with the Nats at home behind Doug Fister, expecting a B bet chase tomorrow if we lose.
