MLB Picks: Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners
I know Felix Hernandez hasn’t exactly been dominant this year, but he has been winning games for the Seattle Mariners. The guy has a remarkable record so far, and any time he’s on the hill I think the Mariners have a great chance to win. Against a mediocre Kansas City Royals lineup that is slumping a bit and on the road, I think he’ll be in great form.
What’s more, the Kansas City Royals limp into this one in Seattle with Joe Blanton on the mound. The pitching edge would probably warrant a -200 line if the Mariners were playing better baseball so far this season, but because Seattle is underachieving, the line is very reasonable.
So, a Cy Young caliber pitcher going against a mediocre lineup at home with a -150 line? I like this one a lot for a flat bet.
Z-Code and I disagree, but the computer is betting against a Felix Hernandez start because of his recent struggles. I think this lack of trust is a bit misplaced, but the computer likes over 6.5 with nearly four to one likelihood.
