MLB Picks: Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers
I pride myself on taking emotion out of betting, but I’d be lying to you if I told you I wasn’t at least a little bit bothered by the rain delay inspired comeback that the Colorado Rockies pulled on the LA Dodgers last night. The game was won, our starting pitcher was cruising along, and then after a very long rain delay it all came crashing down as an elite team fell apart and ended one of the most epic losing streaks in baseball history (two short of a Colorado Rockies franchise record).
But no matter. I know this line is sharp and it’s hard to see any real value in it with Clayton Kershaw being on the tough-luck side of some pretty brutal losses this year. Still, I think the LA Dodgers will bounce back with a vengeance and I like an AB Doubler progression here with Kershaw and Greinke.
The computer only gives a 56% chance of victory but finds five star value on the -300 line. Unfortunately, that is a clear sign of conflict in our algorithm. Perhaps thrown off a bit by the blown game last night, the computer is hesitant. Still, there is some support and the pitching and roster edges here are enormous.
We won’t get too far ahead of ourselves here, but we like a modest wager in an AB doubler chase progression.
