MLB Picks and Predictions July 4th: Milwaukee Brewers at Washington Nationals
Happy Independence Day — and what better than to feature the team from our nation’s capital.
We hit our B bet in my Orioles progression, and our featured over/under bet came through as well. Just for following on Facebook, that’s two wins! Combined with the first two bets after hockey finished and we’re 4-0, 3-0 with my Z-Code features. A nice run.
Today, unfortunately, is a no bet. I want to show you what not to do:
The Nats are the big name, better team, heavy favorite… but when you take emotion out of it, it gets a little ugly. The Nats lineup has scored just one run over the last two games. The Washington Nationals have lost two in a row, and they limp into this final game of the series.
Now I suppose on a holiday in DC they can be extra motivated to not lose three in a row in front of the home crowd, but they’ve got an unknown pitcher that’s 0-1 going. It’s a DANGEROUS game, and at -155, why jump in?
Z-Code agrees. one star of confidence in a 50/50 game is pretty much exactly how I see this one. There’s just no value in the line, even if the Nats probably take this one by being significantly better — but didn’t we think that the last two games?
Ignore that gut feeling that the heavy favorite will win. There’s no value here.
There aren’t many strong plays for July 4th. Sit on your money, and let’s see what the rest of the week has in store for us.
