They say that it is impossible to guess the exact score of a match. In reality, this is not entirely true. It is very possible to guess it. If you take a look at the statistics, you will notice that half of the games in the European championships end with the scores 0-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-0.
However, for this strategy, it is not as important to determine the score of the game. What is important is to know how to make competent bets.
So, let’s take a look at a few betting options using the “match score” strategy
Method 1:
The trick is to choose three matches, where you believe there will be an equal competition.
If you are confident in the victory of the home team, you should limit yourself by betting on three scores: 1-0; 2-0; 2-1.
However, if you are not confident in the victory of the home team, you should choose: 1-0; 1-1; 2-1.
If you believe that the both teams have equal chances of winning, choose: 1-0; 1-1; 0-1.
For example:
Say you made bets on three matches
Game 1: 1-0, 2-1, 2-0

Game 3: 1-0, 2-1, 2-0
The betting odds are from 7-9.
Then you write down all the score combinations on the parlays. Each parlay must contain one of the options for one of the games. (Score: game 1, game 2, game 3)
As a result, you must end up with 27 parlays:

Let’s assume that we bet $1 for each parlay (the general bet will be $27). If all the games end with the scores 1-0, 2-1, 2-0, we will get 343 times more and win $343! However, it is quite difficult to win like this from the first time (it is still problematic even on the fifth time), but even if you win on the 10th or 11th time, you will still profit well.
Method 2 – “Before and After”:
The idea of this strategy is that we take a couple of games, which we expect to be the most effective. Then we choose the estimated scores.
Example:
RB Leipzig 3-2
Bochum 3-1
Ingolstadt 1-3
Kaiserslautern 3-1
We modify them slightly:
We add 1 goal to the estimated home team’s goals
We take away 1 goal from the estimated home team’s goals
We add 1 goal to the estimated away team’s goals
We take away 1 goal from the estimated away team’s goals
We get:
RB Leipzig: 4-2, 3-3, 2-2, 3-1
Bochum: 4-1, 3-2, 2-1, 3-0
Ingolstadt: 2-3, 1-4, 0-3, 1-2
Kaiserslautern: 4-1, 3-2, 2-1, 3-0
We make bets on all the aggregate scores (initial and modified). You must make single bets and all the parlay options of the four scores.
This is what it will look like:
1. single: match 1
2. single: match 2
3. single: match 3
4. single: match 4
5. parlay: match 1, match 2
6. parlay: match 1, match 3
7. parlay: match 1, match 4
8. parlay: match 2, match 3
9. parlay: match 2, match 4
10. parlay: match 3, match 4
11. parlay: match 1, match 2, match 3
12. parlay: match 1, match 2, match 4
13. parlay: match 1, match 3, match 4
14. parlay: match 2, match 3, match 4
15. parlay: match 1, match 2, match 3, match 4
We must place the same amount on every bet option. Even if you guess 2 scores out of 4, you will profit.
Practice
The “exact score” betting strategy is very attractive because there are usually big odds on such bets. But there are many problems that arise here: some bookmaking offices do not allow placing parlays on more than one event, so it is essential that you find a good bookmaker with a minimal margin. Last but not least, here are a few tips on match score betting:
- Statistics show that there is an average of 2.6 goals in every match. So if you stick to the average value you are more likely to win.
- Let’s not forget that the home team tends to surpass the away team in the average number of goals. Consider this when adding a small advantage to the home team.
- You should not fully rely on statistics. Use your knowledge on football, look at the state of the players, note the injured ones and so on.
- Refer to the team standings to see what the teams’ motivations are.
