The English Premier League will kick off its second week of the 2018-19 season on Saturday, August 18. Ten matches will take place over three days with Chelsea versus Arsenal being the biggest of the clashes. ZCode System’s predictions will give EPL soccer bettors the upper hand for this weekend.
EPL Soccer: Saturday, August 18
Cardiff City vs. Newcastle United
Cardiff City and Newcastle United kick off the weekend’s action. Both sides lost in week 1 and neither showed much in defeat. Cardiff will be playing at home, but they don’t have much in the way of top-quality Premier League players. Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is a mastermind of tactics, but this match is destined for a stalemate.

Tottenham vs. Fulham
Tottenham won their opening match while Fulham sank to a surprising loss to Crystal Palace. Fulham has just been promoted to the Premier League and the club will take time to get used to the quality of the league. Saturday should see another loss, but this time at the hands of Tottenham.

West Ham vs. Bournemouth
West Ham suffered the worst defeat of week 1. The Hammers lost to Liverpool, 4-0. Bournemouth won’t offer that same kind of goal threat. But don’t expect West Ham to win as easily as has been predicted.

Leciester City vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
Both clubs are looking for their first win. Although Wolverhampton was promoted this season, the team has plenty of talent. However, Wolves’ defense is still a work in progress. Leceister should sneak a win at home.

Everton vs. Southampton
Everton looked good against Wolverhampton in week 1. The team’s defense let it down late on, however. Winger Richarlison is a fantastic player and he will be tasked with creating goals and scoring on Saturday. Southampton didn’t play well in a boring nil-nil draw with Burnley. Everton should breeze to another victory. Note, Richarlison is nursing a calf injury but is expected to play.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal
Chelsea eased to a win in week 1 against Huddersfield. New manager Maurizio Sarri had his tactics working as Chelsea won, 3-0. Now, the team will play stronger opposition in the form of Arsenal. However, Arsenal is still finding its feet under new manager Unai Emery. There were bright spots last weekend against Manchester City, but the Gunners will once again come away with nothing.

EPL soccer: Sunday, August 19
Manchester City vs. Huddersfield
How many goals will the reigning champions score? Manchester City tallied twice last weekend and now play its first home game of the season against Huddersfield. The Terriers are the sacrificial lambs and will most likely give up another three or more goals this weekend.
Result: Manchester City win
Burnley vs. Watford
Watford looked brilliant in its 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend. Meanwhile, Burnley drew nil-nil. Burnley is more focused on playing in the Europa League currently and that will take a toll on the team’s performance on Sunday. Although ZCode System’s prediction believes Burnley will win big, that won’t happen at all.
Result: Watford win
Brighton vs. Manchester United
Manchester United will have it all together on Sunday for its trip to Brighton. Nothing short of a Red Devils’ win should be expected.

EPL soccer: Sunday, August 20
Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool
Both clubs won their opening fixture and they will eye another three points on Monday night. Crystal Palace’s win over Fulham was a bit unexpected. The Eagles may have overachieved. Liverpool is one of the Premier League title favorites. The Reds looked unstoppable in week 1. This match may be a bit more nervy for Liverpool, but the Jurgen Klopp’s side will find a way to eke out a win.
