NHL Update – First week recap – Highly Successful start to the NHL season.
I know my featured games haven’t been off to their usual exciting pace, but our season in the VIP Club has been doing well. Despite a comparably low win rate to years before, medium and high confidence plays have carried us through some unpredictable days. Last night we went 3-1 on game winner picks and 2-0 on over/underpredictions. We got the score right on the Penguins Leafs game, we just had the teams reversed.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are the best team in hockey right now. They have three of the best forwards in the NHL in James Neal, Sidney Crosby, and Evgeni Malkin. They have a talented goalie in Marc-Andre Fleury. The Penguins are coached well, consistent, and perennial contenders. Canada is a great place to live…except between November and April..unless you love winter sports! As a kid we spent all our time playing sports outside (no computers, no internet, no facebook, no twitter, no playstation etc.), but now I prefer to stay safe indoors when it’s really bad. After forcing the action a bit on Danilo and using insider information, we were able to challenge our leader to pick his favorite team. The NHL season is finally upon us, which means we get to finally outline predictions for the upcoming hockey season. We’ll do each conference, and predict which teams will make the playoffs. Last year, Z-Code was one of the only professional prediction services to have the Devils making the Stanley Cup Final. Let’s see if we can do it again this year:
Western Conference:
1. Vancouver Canucks: How do you bet against these guys? They return a stud goaltender and some of the best scorers in hockey. They have a two-way team that can dominate a game. The Canucks will be great again.
2. St. Louis Blues: The Blues have the best goaltending tandem in hockey. This team is built for another playoff run.
3. LA Kings: In the worst division in hockey, the Kings should be able to win the division this year. They made a Stanley Cup run last year as an 8th seed, but they won’t sneak ...

Last week we posted our predictions for the first round of the playoffs and crushed it. We went 4-0 ML and 3-1 ATS. A great start to the postseason means the next rounds can be played with house money. Here are my second round plays:
1. Atlanta Falcons at PK, -2.5: We got in on this one early in the VIP Club and were able to place our wager before the line moves. I’m on the Falcons with high confidence here. They’re a fantastic home team and taking on one of the weakest road teams in NFL history. The Falcons are coming off a bye, and if not for an RGIII injury (and decision to leave him in the game), I think it’s highly likely the Seahawks get eliminated last week.
