NHL Picks and Predictions: Edmonton Oilers at Chicago Blackhawks

NHL Featured Game: Chicago Blackhawks Vs Edmonton Oilers

The historic points streak of the Chicago Blackhawks may be over, but they’re still the best team in hockey. They’ve got two goalies playing out of this world right now, the offense is clicking, and the defense is deep and skilled. Against a slumping Oilers team, on home ice no less, they should be able to win.

The one worry in this game is that the Chicago Blackhawks could suffer a let down. Their winning streak is over and so too could be their aura of invincibility. The Oilers aren’t a bad team, though they’re playing badly. This could be tougher than the line suggests. With Patrick Sharp out, the Blackhawks are without one of the best two-way centers in hockey. His absence leaves the Blackhawks a bit short.

Additionally, there is very limited value in the line. Should the Blackhawks succumb to the exhaustion of such a magnificent streak, or simply not show up again, you’ll be out quite a bit of money paying -220 for this game.

Still, with five star support from Z-Code and a 73% chance for victory, it’s all systems go on the BLackhawks today. I’ll be treading with caution, but I’m still in the water.
