MLB Picks: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres
This is not exactly a forum pick for me, but it’s a lean. I see some serious value in the line at home for the San Diego Padres, and I think the slumping Arizona Diamondbacks have their work cut out for them. That said, with a weak signal from the computer (if any) and an unreliable pitcher on the mound for the home team, I think we should temper our expectations here. I officially don’t have any plays today, but if you’re looking for some action or just need a cheap thrill tonight, my suggestion would be the San Diego Padres at home.
The Padres had high expectations in a mediocre division this year. They added some pieces offensively and have one of the top rotations in baseball, aside from the Washington Nationals who are in their own discussion, when everything is clicking. In a pitchers’ park, these guys should be putting up some incredible numbers. Unfortunately, that just hasn’t been the case.
Still, the Arizona Diamondbacks have a highly mediocre lineup. Their pitching is nothing special and I think even the San Diego Padres can scrape together a few runs. This series is a bit of a mess, but with a one-time ace on the mound in Andrew Cashner, I think San Diego might be able to find their form.
Again, the computer doesn’t like this game and sees it basically as a coin flip. I don’t like this game because I think there’s too much volatility in both of these teams and cannot trust either one. Still, there’s value in the line, there’s a big name power arm on the mound, and the Diamondbacks are floundering.
Padres 4 – Dbacks 3
