NHL Playoffs Picks: St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Game Five

NHL Playoffs picks: Minnesota Wild at St. Louis Blues, Game Five

After a home progression and two flat bets on the road, we’re up some decent money on the St. Louis Blues against the Minnesota Wild in this 2-2 series. I almost hate to keep featuring it, but this is my favorite series of the NHL playoffs.

Again we see a mild signal from the computer favoring the St. Louis Blues. The 57% chance to win at home here is justified by the line and the value is relatively limited. Still, the Blues had a phenomenal season and I continue to look at them as a better version of who they are than the Minnesota Wild are. I think Minnesota has a few players with more top-end talent, but the depth and system of the Blues is enough to overcome it, as we saw in their 6-1 massacre in Game Four.

This could easily be another grinding game. Dubnyk is a capable goalie who can still steal this series. Still, I look at this series as a great opportunity for some early-round value from a matchup I really like. With the Ducks cruising to victory, the Habs and Rangers on the cusp, and a few other battles still shaping up, this is my favorite series to watch. It’s going to be another fun one, I just think St. Louis is the better team by a significant margin and on home ice.
