NBA Featured Game – Friday, January 4th: LA Lakers at LA Clippers
The Los Angeles Lakers are a difficult team to figure out. Without Steve Nash, they struggled through the start of the season. Without Pau Gasol, they again fell into a small slump. With their ferocious foursome in place, they’re an elite team in the west. Still, they find a way to fall to teams like the Sixers.
The LA Clippers went on one of the most dominant winning streaks in recent memory, only to see it snapped by back to back losses. Can they respond in a huge rivalry game?
The Clippers want to send a message. The Lakers have long been the big team in Los Angeles, and the Clippers want to prove they’re a legitimate contender this season. They’re deep, they’re dynamic, and they’re having fun. Still, they’re slumping a bit this week.
The Lakers ARE the big dog in LA until the Clippers knock them off their pedestal. I’m not sure the Clippers have what it takes to beat a healthy Lakers team. If everyone starts, I think the Lakers have this one. I’ll take the four points and the moneyline with low confidence.
