A quarter of the NFL season is in the rearview mirror and only six teams remain undefeated. Two of them face off in Tennessee, as the Titans host the Bills. We will take a look at that matchup and four others this week.
Buffalo Bills versus Tennessee Titans
The 4-0 Bills, leaders of the AFC East take on the 3-0 Titans, leaders of the AFC South. Both teams enter “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and the Bills have a slight edge of +27 to +25 on the Power Ranking Indicator. The Totals Predictor indicates that the teams are performing on opposite sides of the “over/under” line, making a bet a risky proposition. Both teams are performing consistently according to their favorite/underdog status according to the Team Volatility Oscillator. The Bills won last year’s meeting between the teams in a 14-7 defensive battle. Look for the Titans to win a tight game, probably with a late field goal.
Carolina Panthers versus Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are off to an 0-4 start, while the Panthers won last week to even their record at 2-2. Atlanta is a 1.57 to 2.33 favorite to get their first win with an “over/under” of 57.5. The Panthers are +6 on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average up”, while the Falcons are +5 and “ice cold down”. Betting the over is a safe bet considering that both teams have been trending in games over the line. The Falcons won both meetings between the teams last year by an average of 23 points. The score will be much closer, but the feeling is the Falcons advantage over the Panthers will continue.
Jacksonville Jaguars versus Houston Texans
The Texans look to break into the win column for the first time this year as they host the 1-3 Jaguars. The Texans are a huge favorite at 1.4 to 3.15. Jacksonville has a +10 to +3 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator, while both teams are trending downward on the Team Strength Oscillator at “ice cold down” and “dead”. Despite and “over/under” line of 54.5, expect a high scoring game with an “over” bet the wise choice. The Texans won both games between the teams last season and that trend should continue. Look for the Texans to win by a touchdown.
Miami Dolphins versus San Francisco 49ers
The Dolphins enter the contest with a 1-3 record and the 49ers are 2-2 after falling to the Eagles on Monday night. San Francisco is a huge favorite at 1.26 to 3.94, while both teams are “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Miami has been more consistent at +3 to 0 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Like most of the other matchups this week, except a higher than normal scoring game, betting the over being the smart play. The 49ers have a +23 to +14 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and will be too strong, even without some key players, for the Dolphins.
Indianapolis Colts versus Cleveland Browns
Both teams enter with 3-1 records and battling for the top of their respective divisions. The Colts have a +22 to +16 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator, while both teams are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Colts are a 1.77 to 2.14 road favorite with an “over/under” of 47.5. The teams are even on the Team Volatility Oscillator, both demonstrating consistency performing according to their favorite/underdog status. It’s best to avoid the “over/under” since the teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. The Colts will be the only road team of the five picks to succeed this week, taking down the Browns in a relatively close game.
