Epic explosion down the stretch and the Devils came through in a game they had to have and a game we had them winning. Now you look at this line and you have to wonder.
First of all, I doubt z-code has this one right. Schneider went last night and with both goalies performing fairly well right now I highly doubt they run him out for two in a row. Then again, Schneider looked great and might be in line for two in a row if Deboer is feeling aggressive. I don’t think goaltending plays into this one though… not for me anyway.
The Sabres scored more than one goal for the first time in a long time last night and I thnk they’ll be exhausted from the exertion required in an overtime win. OT was over quick, but it was a physical battle.
The Devils were also in a battle, winning the third period convincingly to steal a win. I think they’ll be tired – especially when you consider that Jagr is carrying them and he’s like 90 years old. Tired and lacking skilled scoring, the Devils are a liability.
I don’t like the Devils at -200 here. I don’t see much value. -1 or regulation with low confidence to steal some value. The offense isn’t great and they’re tired. The Devils are better when you’re getting money lines against mediocre teams, not sharp lines against bad teams.
Then again, I really don’t think the Sabres can win two in a row. My expert analysis is simply that t
hey stink. Low confidence.
