MLB Picks and Predictions, August 6th: Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros
Well, who saw that coming? The Astros won a pitchers’ duel in their home park to open the series, but Boston really didn’t look all that bad over the course of the entire game. They left a ton of runners on, but they still looked like the better team. Houston got lucky, and I’d be surprised if they could shut down the Boston lineup twice in a row
This is a tough one because the progression fits my system but this particular game is on the outskirts. There’s no pitching edge to the heavy favorites, but the roster edge seems to make up for both that and the fact that they’re on the road. My lean is definitely to trust Boston here — I don’t see the Astros sweeping the Red Sox.
Z-Code sees tons of value in a slam dunk for the Boston Red Sox. Five-star support with a tremendously high likelihood of a moneyline victory for the Boston Red Sox in Houston leads to a strong parameter in my system. At -165, the opening line, there’s tons of value. I expect that line to move.
I’m on Boston here for the second part of a progression bet. I’m looking to win .25 over the top of what we lost yesterday.
Red Sox 6 – Astros 4
