2016 NHL All Star Game Prediction: East vs West

My advice in these things is almost always to just stay away. A long-term betting portfolio should have better investments in it than an East Vs West NHL All Star Game gimmick. That said, we’ve hit a bunch of these silly things in a row and the line always seems to just be a toss up. As a result, you can almost make a decent profit just taking what Las Vegas gives you. So, with that said, I’ll throw an NHL All Star Game prediction out there.

Looking at the rosters, to me, the East has the edge. I think the goaltending is a bit of a wash, but the firepower on the east has a little bit more of a dynamic feel up and down the roster. The West has historically been much better than the East in terms of loaded teams that make the playoffs since the divisions shuffled recently. Here, I think the big names all play for the East.

If you agree that goaltending is about even in this one, then the play is an obvious one when you consider the roster talent on each side. The question is whether this firepower will be able to be a cohesive bunch in what always promises to be a crazy game. For me, I think there’s enough here to lean to the Eastern Conference all stars to win this one.
