Today I want to take a look at a few MLB games and use the ZCode Line Value rating. Like any investment, using these tools as one of a few filters is more beneficial than by itself but it will give us a good start.
GAME #1: Los Angeles Angels vs New York Yankees
BetOnline Current ML: NYY -260/LAA +237
BetOnline Current RL: NYY -140/LAA +120

As you can see, the Angels have a 5 star line value with strong underdog support. Given the public support of the Yankees, I can get behind a play on the Angels. And still getting plus odds on the run line will give us great value with some added protection. Take LAA +1.5.
GAME #2: Washington Nationals vs Miami Marlins
BetOnline Current ML: WAS -117/MIA +107
BetOnline Current RL: WAS +140/MIA -160
Another 5 star underdog with Miami. Given Washington’s bullpen issues and Miami’s ability to hit left handed pitching, Miami looks like a strong side. The run line at -160 is a little too expensive for me so I think we can still catch some value taking Miami ML. Take Miami ML @ +107.
Incorporating all of the ZCode tools as a series of filters for each play is the best way to maintain a strong selection of investments. Obviously, baseball has a lot of daily variance so sticking with the filters over time will yield the best results. Good luck!
