Premier League Futures Released by Sportsbooks

Premier League Futures Released by Sportsbooks

The English Premier League has released the 2017-18 fixtures list despite the season not kicking off until Saturday August 12th. With the fixtures list out, sportsbooks have released Premier League futures for the season ahead.

The Favorites

Sports bookies have places Manchester City as the favorites to win the English Premier League. The Blues are 15/8 to lift the Premier League title according to futures odds. Manchester City finished third in the league last season, but the team has already been in the transfer market buying players. The club has added playmaker Bernardo Silva from Monaco and goalkeeper Ederson. Despite spending £78 million so far, the team is still hungry for more talent and could buy their way to the top.
Although Manchester United finished sixth at the end of the 2016-17 term, sportsbooks have placed the Red Devils at odds of 3/1. The team is at great odds, and if reports are to be believed about this summer’s arrivals, the team should be nicely set up to make a push for a Premier League title.
Defending champions Chelsea is 10/3 to win the title, and if the team can put up the same defensive stance, it could be a repeat title winning year.
Of all the top teams, Liverpool could be the most misleading of all sides. The Reds are 12/1 to win the Premier League, but the team slipped up far too many times during the season to show it can make a push in 2017-18. Liverpool is in need of new players of high-quality, but so far, each player the team has been linked with hasn’t come off. Liverpool could be a fool’s bet this season.

To be relegated

At the other end of the spectrum are the teams that are not only dreamers when it comes to the Premier League title, but will face a relegation fight all season.
After Huddersfield’s magical promotion to the Premier League from the Championship in May, the team is being picked as being one of the three relegated sides. The problem is, this team is going to be a bit better than many feel. Huddersfield is a well coached and prepared team, so it will give other sides trouble all season long.
Brighton and Burnley are also being linked with relegation. Bright sits at 6/5 odds while Burnley is 11/8. Both teams look a bit light in terms of the talent they have, and in Burnley’s case, they are a team that has shown the tendency to go up and down.

Top 4 Finish

Making the top four of the Premier League means clubs qualify for the Champions League. Manchester City (1/5), Chelsea (1/3), Manchester United (1/3) and Tottenham (4/6) have been selected by sportsbooks as the teams to most likely finish in the top four. Three of the four finished at the top of the league in 2016-17, and bookies are favoring them to repeat the feat.

Predictions

Manchester City should be better than last season, and with Pep Guardiola getting better players this season, the club should push for the title. Chelsea will be right there with them, but it depends on whether the team can improve its attacking players.
