NHL Playoffs Picks: Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers
I think the Philadelphia Flyers have completely imploded. It’s fun watching people try to defend these fans, but they are irrational and violent. Philly is a great city and a fun sports town, but Philadelphia fans are the absolute worst. Whether it’s the Eagles or the Flyers, the people are just ridiculous. As such, isn’t it fun to watch the best team in the East, the Washington Capitals, beat the snot out of them every night? I mean if you can’t have enough dignity when honoring your dead owner to not throw things at someone that gets boarded… what kind of people are these?
In any event, I like a progression here. There is absolutely no way, barring catastrophic injury, that the Caps do not close this series out. I had them winning in four from the start, but now that we have three games down with two home games to go, I feel comfortable chasing this one through to its conclusion. I expect a sweep, but I also think they can close this one out at home. The Washington Capitals are playing good hockey, and this meager home ice advantage has done little for the Flyers to close the gap.
There’s value here. On the road and with the season on the line, the Flyers might play their best hockey of the playoffs tonight, but I don’t think it will matter. The Washington Capitals are just this much better than the Philadelphia Flyers.

The score predictor says 3-2, and this is a system play. For me, I don’t even think the Flyers can keep it this close. I’m looking for a nice playoff blowout here as the Caps look to close it out and wait for the Rags or Penguins. In an ABC progression where we follow this through until the conclusion of the series, I’m even more confident.
