NFL Picks: Week 15

Los Angeles Chargers versus Kansas City Chiefs

In a battle for the AFC West title, the 7-6 Chargers take on the 7-6 Chiefs. The Chiefs won the first meeting between the teams as a road underdog on September 24. The teams are nearly identical on the Power Ranking Indicator, with the Chiefs holding a slim +14 to +12 edge. However the Chargers are “burning hot” no the Team Strength Oscillator, while the Chiefs are “dead”. Playing in Kansas City is never easy and the Chiefs will likely win the division with a victory. They are a one-point home underdog, but I see the Chiefs pulling this one out late.

Baltimore Ravens versus Cleveland Browns

On paper, this looks like a clear win for the Ravens. The Browns have played some decent games, only to lose them in the fourth quarter. Looking for a reason to believe Cleveland can win their first game against the Ravens is extremely difficult. They are 0 on the Power Ranking Indicator, while the Ravens are +20. They are also -26.32 and “dead” on the Team Strength Oscillator, while Baltimore is “burning hot”. A 7-point road favorite, the Ravens will win and cover.

Los Angeles Rams versus Seattle Seahawks

Both teams are coming off tough defeats, the Rams losing to the Eagles and Seattle falling to Jacksonville. The Rams hold a one game lead in the division, but Seattle won the first meeting. A win by Seattle will go a long way toward winning the division. Not a surprise, the teams are nearly identical on the oscillators, both “burning hot” and the Rams holding a +28 to +26 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Seattle comes in a 1.5-point home favorite and have dominated divisional play. Look for Seattle to come on top with another fourth quarters comeback.

New England Patriots versus Pittsburgh Steelers

After losing to the Dolphins on Monday, this game is a must win for New England if they want the number one seed. Both teams are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and are nearly identical on the Power Ranking Indicator. New England won the last meeting between the teams in last season’s playoffs. Despite being at home with a 9-game winning streak, the Steelers are a 2.5-point underdog. The line tells me to go with New England on the road, taking over the top seed in the conference.

Dallas Cowboys versus Oakland Raiders

Both teams come in needing to win to keep their fading playoff hopes alive. Dallas needed a fourth quarter flourish to take down the Giants last week. They won the last meeting between the teams in 2013 and come in a 3-point road favorite. Oakland is “burning hot” and the Cowboys are “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The teams are nearly identical on the Power Ranking Indicator. Dallas is 4-2 on the road, while Oakland is just 4-3 at home. While it’s normally easy to go with the home team, Dallas is tied for sixth in Team Volatility and see them continuing to do well as a favorite.  I pick Dallas, but not a game I would be completely confident betting on.

Atlanta Falcons versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Atlanta can with their division if they win their last three contests. They won the first meeting between the teams as a home favorite on November 26. They hold a +21 to +5 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average” to “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Tampa Bay is decent at home, but Atlanta is 4-2 on the road and have something to play for. A 6.5-point favorite, the Falcons should win and cover.
