Tennessee Titans versus Kansas City Chiefs
Tennessee enters a 7.5 point underdog after coming off a 9-7 regular season. The Chiefs have won their last four games and are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Titans are “ice cold down” and are at a +24 to +14 disadvantage on the Power Ranking Indicator. Kansas City was the last meeting between the teams in December 2016 as a road underdog. I see the Chiefs continuing their hot play, advancing to the AFC Divisional round.
Atlanta Falcons versus Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are a 6 point favorite over the Falcons, but are only 4-4 at home this season. Atlanta is one of only two NFC playoff teams coming off a win in the season finale. They are “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator compared to “average up” for the Rams. Los Angeles took the last meeting between the teams are a road favorite in December 2016. I think the Rams win this one, but not cover the spread. If betting, I’d likely pass in favor of one of the other match ups.
Buffalo Bills versus Jacksonville Jaguars
The 9-7 Bills head into Jacksonville as a 7.5 point underdog. However, they won their last games and the Jaguars dropped their last two. The Jaguars are 6-2 at home, while the Bills are 3-5 on the road. Jacksonville is “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator, while the Bills are “average down”. They also hold a slight +23 to +19 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Tied for 10th on the Team Volatility Oscillator also bodes well for the Jaguars, who will win and advance to the divisional round.
Carolina Panthers versus New Orleans Saints
In perhaps the best match up in the wild card round, both teams come in at 11-5 having lost their regular season finale. Both are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Not a surprise, they are nearly even on the Power Ranking Indicator, with the Saints holding a one point edge. The Saints are first in Team Volatility and have won the last two meetings between the teams. I see the Saints taking this one and covering the 5.5 point spread.
